i just can't help myself...

Apparently with spring in full bloom, or at least here for the time being, there have been so many photo spreads with cute boys in their best spring fashions, and the new issue of GQ isn't any different. Their cover boy, Zac Efron, steams up this spread, although, not quite as much as his spread from Interview mag, but still. He's doing a wonderful job at shaking more of his HSM/Disney image, and embracing a more grown-up image. I realize Zac may be not everyones cup of tea, but you have to admit, he looks pretty darn good in these shots...and although I do appreciate the lack of shirt he happens to be sporting in the last shot, that is the only image that just doesn't really make sense to me in this set. Maybe they could have just stuck a really great, tailored vest and tie on him, or a deep-v tee? But, who am I to judge, the stylist clearly gets paid to do what they do, and I do not [yet.]. Hope you swoon over these as much as I did!

rydell high...

While I was going through some old magazines to find some new-old inspiration and clean out the clutter in my room I re-discovered this spread from the September issue of Elle magazine. I love the back-to-school/Rydell High vibe, with some of the talent from High School Musical. The styling of this spread was fabulous, with the rocker-chic elements, mixed with the fun and flirty styles reminiscent of the 50s era. I love Ashley Tisdale, I think she's one of the best actors in these movies, and I love everything about her in this spread. She has a slightly 'bad Sandy' look to her, but she still looks so cool and chic in leather leggings, natural waist dresses and full skirts with full hair. Vanessa Hudgens wears some beautiful dresses with flirty little sweaters that play into more of a 'good Sandy' feeling, but with a rocker edge in the accessories, and she has some of the cutest up-dos and gorgeous curls through-out the spread. Zac Efron channels his inner T-bird and ditches that squeaky-clean Troy Bolton image for a dozen or so frames of the camera, and modernizes some classic-ish Greaser styles. I also have to point out Ashley Tisdale's adorable dog who joined her for a few pages, and her ever so fabulous Louis Vuitton dog tote.  Aaaaaaand I'll admit it, I saw the third HSM on opening night--my 7 year old cousin loves the movies, and my sister and I had no problem taking her to see it :)
