tunesday

This week for tunesday, I have a band, originally hailing from Canada, that I had the opportunity to see live a few weeks ago when they opened for Cobra Starship at MSU. Down with Webster is a hybrid of rock and rap [kind of like if Lincoln Park and the Beastie Boys had a baby], and the energy they have on stage is phenomenal. I bought their CD off iTunes a few days ago, and it was well worth it! The songs are super catchy and have a really fresh feeling to them. This track is a reinvention of Hall & Oates classic song 'Rich Girl.' Check this band out, I have a feeling they could be big...

simplicity wins

These posters for Tim Burton films are fabulous. They convey the tones and themes of the film without having to be over the top. I'd love a few of these nicely framed for my future apartment.

met gala

The Metropolitan Museum of Art Gala was held Monday night to celebrate the opening of their new Costume Institute exhibit paying homage to the American woman and fashion. The exhibit features pieces from as far back as 1890! My absolute FAVORITE look of the night was from Emma Watson. She looked absolutely stunning in her white Burberry gown. It showed how wonderfully [and gracefully] she's transitioning from child star to legit actress and fashionista. Other honorable mentions: Taylor Swift, Anne Hathaway, and Mila Kunis. There were a plethora of beautiful looks, and very few misses [in my opinion] this time around. If you're in NYC this summer, check out the exhibit and tell me about it, because I'm not sure I'll make it to this one :(
