"The Soup" is one of my favorite shows on television right now, and the biggest reason for that is Joel McHale. I think he is hilarious. I'm also a fan of his new NBC show, "Community," in which he plays a lawyer who never went to college, and got caught, so he had to head back to community college for his undergrad degree, and obviously, hilarity ensues. These images are from the latest issue of GQ magazine, and Joel is displaying some of the latest fashions for mens suits...

coco before chanel

InStyle.com had some images on their website from a new biopic about Coco Chanel! The movie, titled 'Coco Before Chanel,' is due in NY and LA September 25th, other cities to be announced. Starring Audrey Tatou, this film focuses on Coco Chanel's rise to fashion fame, and looks to be quite exquisitely costumed and styled! Hopefully it makes it to a theatre near me, or with some luck, I will have found a paying job in NYC and be living there by then, otherwise I'll be waiting on pins and needles to get this on DVD. These stills get me quite inspired, I hope they do the same for you!

crewcut cuties

For those who know me, its no secret I love babies, and most children. While checking my e-mail today, I discovered I had received one from J.Crew's children's line, 'crewcuts.' The image in the e-mail was so cute and intriguing, I headed over to the website and browsed the catalogue. It only made me more excited for the day I have children and can dress them in these fabulous looks. I do have an almost 8 year old cousin who would absolutely love a lot of this, but neither of us have the expendable cash for these exact pieces right now...but I may see if she likes them enough for me to make her some. I wish I had as much style and sass as some of these little models. So presh. :)

I wish I could make this image bigger, but I just can't figure out how in my new Google Chrome web browser thing, but if you click on it, its a little bigger...Anyway. I found this image on Apartment Therapy and thought it was hilarious. The two summers i spent in NYC definitely allowed me to be kept awake by a lot of these things. I can't wait til I'm back there for good, maybe I'll get one of these posters and check them off as I go!

we're off to see the wizard

For the second installment of my movie/fashion series, I chose the iconic and timeless 'Wizard of Oz.' This is one of my favorite movies ever, the colors, the music, the story, Toto...and I love Judy Garland. I love that this story has been interpreted, and reinterpreted over and over again. It spawned the Broadway musical 'Wicked,' the mini-series 'Tin Man,' starring the fabulous Zoey Deschanel, among other things. This is one of the movies I wanted more than anything for the fashion show, but, movies were assigned by luck of the draw, and it didn't go in my favor for this one...{but I do love my movie} This is a spread from Vogue, shot by Annie Leibowitz, and featuring a plethora of designers re-imagining Dorothy's classic dress. I also created an inspiration board on Polyvore, and tried to make a mix of high and low end pieces to put a spin on the costumes...and included a pop culture reference or two {Elton's Greatest Hits anyone??}
