This song/band is my newest obsession. Grouplove is an indie-rock-ish band, and they're on repeat on my spotify playlist these days. "Colours" is the first single off their debut album, "Never Trust A Happy Song." The music is laid-back, but catchy. Perfect festival music --which, sadly, they were at Lollapalooza this past year, and it bums me out to no end that I didn't know their stuff before hand. Such is life, though--not a reason to enjoy the music now!

Lollapalooza is exactly ONE MONTH away! I can't wait to be back in the midwest with my sister, and a couple other awesome peoples, sitting in a park, getting a wicked sunburn and listening to music--all day long. three days straight. Here's another artist who's going to be taking the stage in Grant Park: Kid Cudi. This songs been out for awhile, but it's still a goodie.

The Lollapalooza schedule comes out today and I can't wait to start figuring out which bands I will definitely be seeing and how many bands I can fit in over the three days. Today's tunesday is one of the headliners this year, the Foo Fighters. Fingers crossed they aren't up against another band I want to see, I hate making difficult decisions--especially when it comes to music.

This weeks tunesday is, as you could probably guess, another band I'm dying to see at Lollapalooza this year. Super sassy rocker chick, with just as sassy rocker music. Let's hope the scheduling of bands allows it to happen.

Lollapalooza has released its 20th anniversary lineup, and while the headliners don't necessarily scream "20th anniversary" to me, I'm pretty pumped. And theres a TON of supporting acts that I'm super stoked to be checking out. Today's tunesday is one of those bands. A friend at my last internship told me about this band, and I really like what I've heard, and can't wait to see them at Lolla!!! 

2010 gift guide - the music lover

So, I am jumping on the gift guide bandwagon this year. :) Mostly so I can try to get myself a little more organized for the holidays in hopes it will make getting organized for my move a little easier.*

This week's Tunesday is a band I got to check out at Lollapallooza! There was no good vid for the song I really wanted [Janglin'] but this song is equally amazing! Love their hippie vibe and feel good music. Enjoy :)

sunshine hangover

Lollapalooza has come and gone...and I had a blaaast. We heard some amazing bands, discovered some new ones, witnessed Miss Lady Gaga dive into the crowd at the BMI stage, got one of the best series of sunburns ever, ate some delicious food, and got to lounge around the park for three days. The sister and I are already planning our return next summer. Here's some photos I took! Anyone else go?? Who'd you see??

it's lolla time

Sorry for being so MIA again. My computer screen decided to burn out on me, so I said 'Eff it, I'm getting a Mac!' So then I played the waiting game til my new baby arrived. [who still needs a name, suggestions are welcome!] Then I was helping out with a play, so for two weeks my life was work all day, play all night, literally. 

Now, I'm embarking on a real vacation...IT'S LOLLAPALOOZA TIME! [aaaah!] I am so excited to be seeing some of these bands, AND Perez Hilton is throwing one of his EPIC 'One Night In...' concerts, and I'm trying to snag some tickets---so wish me luck!!! We'll also have a little time to play tourist and do some Shia spotting[Transformers 3 is still filming, right??]

While I was not able to attend Bonnaroo this past weekend, the thought of it keeps getting me pumped for Lollapalooza! I hope to snag some equally impressive photos while I'm there. :) Anyone out there make it to Tennessee for the festival? How'd it go?

After waxing poetic about it for...2.5 years now, I am FINALLY going to Lollapalooza! [aaaaaaaaaaah!] The tickets have been ordered, travel arrangements are in the works, and most importantly FASHION choices have begun to be planned. I mean. Lady Gaga, Green Day, Phoenix, and a bunch of other bands will be there, and outfits must be carefully chosen according to theme, with emphasis on what will get me on style.com's wrap up. :) 

So. Excited.

lollapalooza love

This past weekend Chicago became a multi-stage mecca for music lovers with the annual Lollapalooza festival taking place. I told myself, this is the year I'm going, a lot of bands I like and wanted to see were playing, but then I realized "this is the same weekend as my mother's surprise 50th birthday party," combined with my current lack of funds, my Lolla dreams were detained once again.
