Kelly and Erin, now known as "Subtle Sexuality," and with a little help from Andy and Ryan, created quite possibly the best music video ever with their sure hit "Male Prima Donna."

A.B.C's of Fall...round 2

Here's the next installment of my "A.B. C's of Fall." With Halloween being this weekend, I have a lot of sewing to do. Hopefully I can get a post in here or there! In the meantime, enjoy letters D, E, and F!

A.B.C's of Fall...

Inspired by Elle.com's piece on key trends for fall, I have decided to attempt to work my way through the alphabet with my picks for fall! I plan on having at least 3 letters per week, maybe more, but we shall see.  Hopefully I will make it through to "Z" before the new year!

so obsessed with that font for this headline!

Also, if you click on the image, it will open up bigger for easier reading!
Have a wonderful weekend!

spring fashion week: international edition

Here are some of my favorite collections from Paris, Milan, and London Spring 2010 Fashion Weeks. I got a little behind in checking out the shows, but I've been trying to check out a show or two every day, and this is my list of loves so far! I'm obsessed with Balmain for the second season in a row, and while Chanel never disappoints clothing-wise, I'm not sure how I feel about the platform clogs...

ugh. too cute.

I am a sucker for celebrity children. And I think Harlow is one of the cutest babies out there. So naturally I am dying over this newly released family photo of the Richie-Madden family, including newest addition Sparrow. I have to buy the new issue of People. Too cute.

i'm a gleek...

It's no secret I love musicals. But, a musical-based sitcom is a tricky concept for television, so when I first heard about Fox's show 'Glee,' I was quite skeptical as to how it would work.
Needless to say, 'Glee' has become my newest obssesion.
It has just the right blend of quirk, fun, and music, along with some amazing and hilarious guest appearances from the likes of Victor Garber, Josh Groban, and Kristen Chenoweth. Two of the leads, Matt Morrisson and Lea Michele, are both broadway vets, originating roles in Hairspray and Spring Awakening, respectfully. And the angry cheerleading coach, played by Jane Lynch, will have you rolling on the floor with her one-liners; a personal favorite is "I don't trust a man with curly hair. I can't help but picture little birds laying sulfurous eggs in there, and it disgusts me." The characters have a quirky midwest-theatre kid style, too. Guidance counselor Emma Pillsbury has some of the cutest looks I've seen in a while, and Lea Michele's character Rachel is like the midwest Blair Waldorf with way less friends. Also, I'm generally addicted to Broadway-esque covers of pop hits. So it's a natural fit.
If you haven't been watching, you can catch up with full length episodes on Hulu, or Fox's website, and new episodes are on every Wednesday at 9pm on Fox!

knit 1, purl 2...

Purl and Purl Patchwork are two of my favorite little hole-in-the-wall yarn and craft stores in NYC. It has such a small town feel, but with big city selection and variety. As you can see in some of the pictures below, the stores have entire walls of luxurious yarns and fabric in their respective stores. They also carry, from what I can find, mostly natural fabrics and fibers! So they've got a lot of eco-friendly yarns such as bamboo and organic cotton, and organic fabrics as well. They also have an extensive collection of Liberty of London prints, which I'm dying to check out in person. I've never purchased anything from here, as the times I've visited were only window shopping days, but from the few times I've been in the stores, the staff was always friendly and helpful, and tried to ensure their customers had a quality experience!

If you're in the city, Purl and Purl Patchwork are located in SoHo, at 137 and 147 Sullivan St. respectively.

Zac Efron turns 22 today, October 18th, and I thought swooning over these pictures from the latest issue of NylonGuys, would be a delightful way to honor his special day.
