posh spice in a bag...

I am absolutely in love with Marc Jacobs new ads! They feature Posh Spice a.k.a. Victoria Beckham in a giant shopping bag. Or maybe its a regular sized bag, she is a rather tiny person...

This one to the left is by far my favorite. Although the other two are easier to recognize that is Posh. Featuring her walking out of a Marc Jacobs locker, and sitting up in the bag.

Fabulous!

one pill makes you larger, and one pill makes you small...

Over the holidays I fell down the rabbit hole, and rediscovered how much I love the Disney Movie "Alice in Wonderland." Her magical trip through the looking glass and all over the magical world of Wonderland still holds my attention and gets my creative juices flowing. I've thought up a complete collection in my head of fabulous party frocks based around the characters that are too crazy to be real, but at the same time, have an relatable human quality to them.

I discovered this collection of garments, right, from various locations on Polyvore.com. They highlighted the main colors of Alice's wardrobe, while throwing in some funky accessories based on the supporting characters.

This dress to the left is from Erin Fetherston's Spring 2007 collection. It gave me a feel of the "Alice" silhouette, and if made in the traditional blue she wears, it would be absolutely perfect for a new live movie--dream cast? Marcy Rylan, from "Guiding Light" would be the perfect 'Alice,' in both looks and talent, and Johnny Depp as the 'Caterpillar'--hands down, and Zoey Deschanel as the 'Queen of Hearts.' The rest of the cast? An eclectic mix of up and coming talent and a few movie legends.

On Style.com, I discovered a spread from Vogue Dec. '03 Issue featuring some fabulous designers creating their perfect "Alice" frocks. Here are my favorites.

I am thoroughly
OBSESSED with the CW's newest hit show "Gossip Girl." Josh Schwartz, creator of another one of my gone too soon favorites "The O.C.," has done a marvelous job of showcasing the fabulously flawed lives of the wealthy teens of the Upper East Side of Manhattan. The show is based on the books by Cecily von Ziegesar, and from the one I've actually read, it seemed to follow it pretty faithfully, a few artistic changes here and there. Starring one of the most attractive young casts I've seen in awhile--including my new celebrity crush Chace Crawford [sigh.]--this show has it all: scandals, romance, decent plot, and the [second] best part is the amazing fashions.
Blonde bombshell Blake Lively, who plays Serena Van Der Woodsen, fits the role of the ecclectic-sophisticate of the show. Her clothes often follow the bohemian trends, but are still very high fashion and classy, while her on-again, off-again BFF, Blair Waldorf, played by Leighton Meester, pulls a modern-twist on the classic look, probably what Audrey Hepburn would wear today if she shopped at Henri Bendel. Jenny Humphrey, who is played by Taylor Momsen, is the girl from the other side of the tracks, or in this case Brooklyn, who wants to fit in with her wealthy peers, and a keen sense of fashion. Her style is a bit more of a mix and match of high and lower fashions, with a few handmade dresses thrown in. Sadly, theres only one episode left due to the ongoing and very annoying writers strike, but hopefully the CW will air re-runs, so you can get caught up and hooked! :)
