NYFW - Leanne Marshall

This past Saturday, I had the extreme pleasure of attending Leanne Marshall's presentation for NY Fashion Week. As a big fan of Leanne's from her Project Runway days, I was really excited to see what she was making for Spring 2012. When I got there, I was excited to learn it would be her collection as well as bridal. First off, I loved the space the show was held in, it was small enough to be an intimate setting, but it was big enough that it didn't feel crowded or cramped.

But let's get to the clothes :)

The color palette was perfect--vibrant yellow, dusty blue-grey, with a little white/ivory thrown in. The garments were all had a soft, feminine quality, and if you watched the show at all, you know Leanne is a master at creating texture and manipulating fabric, so these pieces weren't lacking in gorgeous details. Her bridal gowns were equally stunning, and had a little of everything--short, full dresses, to long, elegant gowns. My favorite looks were both dresses, one a short dress with a white, off-shoulder bodice, and blue-grey skirt that had been folded into beautiful, full layers, and the other, a full length gown in the bright yellow, with a three tiered skirt, and loads of gathering all over.

I had a wonderful time at the show, and hope to be able to attend again in the future!

*Note: the colors are slightly skewed, I had to edit the photos a little bit to help bring out all the beautiful details in the garments. And if you click on them, they'll be full size to help see all the detail work!

NYFW - Part 3

This ones kind of long, but loaded with goodies, so keep on scrolling!
[that's what she said?]

Cynthia Rowley
This collection was chock full of amazing prints! I'm beyond obsessed with the fabrics and silhouettes in this collection. One of my favorites so far, for sure!

I am so obsessed with the print on those pants, it's not even funny.^^

Jill Stuart
Popsicle pastels in really unique color-blocks. Über feminine.

Porter Grey
Great prints in classic cuts

St. John
I loved the neutral color palette and simple cuts of these garments. And that hair!

The Row
MK & A created an all white collection that still managed to be really visually interesting.

Suno
Suno consistently hits it out of the ballpark with their prints, and this season is no exception.

i might have drooled over those red metallic shorts
[hint: i totally did.]
