moody monday

I have been doing some sewing lately, and eventually I am planning on setting up a photoshoot to use for my portfolio, plus to get some stuff up on Etsy! [or at least trying to!] I'm really liking all the delicate, feminine details/garments mixed with dark colors and military greens, set against a moody backdrop. If only I had access to a ghost town/abandoned house or dramatic, willow covered southern plantation, but maybe finding a local, old, semi-abandoned cemetery could do the trick? Especially if some fog rolled in at the exact right time... Hmmm.

While I was not able to attend Bonnaroo this past weekend, the thought of it keeps getting me pumped for Lollapalooza! I hope to snag some equally impressive photos while I'm there. :) Anyone out there make it to Tennessee for the festival? How'd it go?

I have this umbrella that I'm kind of obsessed with, so while I appreciate the fact that the U.P. could hit 90+ degrees this week, all I really want is a really good thunderstorm...

[sorry I was m.i.a. last week. my sis turned 21, and i threw her a (almost!)surprise party, so between that and work, I was kind of swamped. things should be back to normal, now :) ]

simplicity wins

These posters for Tim Burton films are fabulous. They convey the tones and themes of the film without having to be over the top. I'd love a few of these nicely framed for my future apartment.

Work is putting a serious damper on my creative juices, so I apologize for the lack of effort in recent posts. I promise I'll try harder.

empire state of monday

I *finally* saw 'New York, I Love You,' and it made me fall in love with NYC all over again. I'm missing the city so terribly right now, even the video for 'Empire State of Mind' makes me sad...

I'm just so ready to be back there...it can't happen soon enough.
