For this weeks swoonsday, I've gone a slightly different route than the dapper gentleman of past posts. Instead, I bring you some Holiday Hotties to brighten up your week. ;)
[and, i know, he's not *exactly* a holiday personality. but. he's definitely got the spirit, so he counts, right?]
I mean, what would Christmas week be without this classic from Mrs. Nick Cannon herself? Feel free to turn the volume up loud and make everyone in your office sing along ;)
[Also, Happy first day of Chanukah to those celebrating!]
My blog posts this week are dedicated to all things Christmas this week! Today I'm sharing some beautiful rooms all decked out for the holidays. A little traditional, a little unique, and a little DIY--the perfect combination for my Christmas!
Running around the city doing some last minute errands...
and picking up a couple last gifts...
because it's off to the mitten for a whole MONTH tomorrow...
also: should you need some last minute gifts, yourself, check out the sample sale at the showroom for the lines i intern for! i helped set it up and there's *SO* much good stuff!
This week's swoonsday pick is an Irish cutie who's a pretty big deal in the UK, and starting to make a name for himself in the states. Robert Sheehan is best known for playing 'Nathan' on the E4 show "Misfits." He has the best hair of any 20-something heartthrob since Seth Cohen's curls waltzed into my life, and a *thick* Irish accent to boot. Get to know his face, I have a feeling you'll be seeing it a lot pretty soon...
This song/band is my newest obsession. Grouplove is an indie-rock-ish band, and they're on repeat on my spotify playlist these days. "Colours" is the first single off their debut album, "Never Trust A Happy Song." The music is laid-back, but catchy. Perfect festival music --which, sadly, they were at Lollapalooza this past year, and it bums me out to no end that I didn't know their stuff before hand. Such is life, though--not a reason to enjoy the music now!
InStyle magazine recently posted illustrations on their website of how some amazing designers interpreted Katniss Everdeen's Hunger Games ensemble in anticipation of the upcoming film, based on the amazing book series. Here's my favorite of the looks.
This weekend, my goal is to finish up the last few items on my Christmas shopping list, and do some fun baking to bring to work next week before I head to the mitten! Here's some amazing baking inspiration--my cookies will probably not be as pretty as these, but a girl can dream! I'll try document and share with you next week!
Have a wonderful weekend!
[How cute is that Hello Kitty gingerbread carousel!?]
This week, swoonsday is about one of my favorite funny guys, Jason Segel. From his days as Nick Andopolis on the short lived "Freaks & Geeks," and as Marshall Eriksen on his hit sitcom, "How I Met Your Mother," to his hysterical movies "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," and "I Love You, Man," this cutie pie has had me simultaneously swooning and in hysterics. And now you can see him on the big screen in "The Muppet Movie," which I'm dying to see. And I mean, he owns a Muppet that looks like him. What's not to love??
Swoon away :)
Enjoy this bonus animated christmas video Jason did with Jack Black for CollegeHumor!
This tunesday is all about my favorite and frequent subject of this blog, Lady Gaga. Her new vid is beyond amazing. The song is her love letter to her hometown of NYC, and the video gives us a little glimpse, however embellished, into how she became the person she is today. 13 minutes of heaven.
This past weekend I braved the crowds of Manhattan and paid a visit to Bergdorfs & Henri Bendel for a little shopping of the window variety. As always, amazing displays that made me want to crawl in and live there forever.
